This beautiful 1980’s home, located in a golf course community in Kent, WA was a full remodel and extensive kitchen & bath design project. After several meetings with our clients, we were able to identify their goals. Gatherings with family and friends was very important to them, so designing functional spaces that easily flowed with one another was our top priority. With an open floor plan, the kitchen and family room became our focus. Each design element was created to achieve our client’s goals. In re-imagining the living spaces, we were able to create additional areas to support their lifestyle while creating flexible spaces for their family to enjoy. The kitchen layout, cabinetry, lighting, appliances, and all the finishes were selected to work with the modern farmhouse design. Our goal was to create a large functioning kitchen that was open and flowed into the family room. We were able to capture unused space in the Family room to create an entertainment feature which included additional storage space, display areas and a built-in bar. We incorporated a few heirloom furniture pieces into the design direction which provided an elevated aspect to the modern farmhouse concept. Many new furniture and accessory pieces were incorporated into the design concept that met with the client’s vision. One of our favorite parts of this project and what our client’s appreciated the most was seeing this new design cohesively spread from one area to another. The use of new materials and textiles provided a seamless transition from one living space to another despite each area having a different purpose. After the project was complete, the clients shared with us how excited they were with the outcome and how the new designs captured their lifestyle so well.
